Work Records: Studio two

Studio two
In this lesson we had to go out and find autumn leaves and bring them in to photograph. When I did this I was intending to try and use these photos in the competition so I used a book to photograph with the leaves. I think this created very interesting photos that fitted well with the competition and was more interesting than the photos of the leaves alone.

I think this is a really interesting photo because it shows the autumn leaves which was the aim for the lesson but also has a sort of magical side to it which fits really well with the competition theme. The page appears to be turning but nothing can be seen turning the page which is the reason for the magical effect the photo has. The book also has a yellowy colouring which along with the leaves creates an old looking photo.

I like this photograph because the autumn leaves create a frame for the book emphasising the importance of it which brings many different meanings to the photo. The photo also fits to both of the aims of the lesson as books can be used to represent quiet reflection.

I dislike this photo because the lighting is very bland and dark so you can barely see the leaves in the photo. Also the leaf is very normal and boring creating a very boring photo.
