Work Records: Lines

Lines

In this lesson I had to take pictures with lines as the main focus point. This included things such as buildings, windows and bricks. If I was to do this lesson again I would make sure that the lines in my photos are the main focus point in the picture, as it is not always clear that this was the aim in my photo. I would also make sure there was more variety in my photos as they pretty much seem to show strait lines and are only really of bricks, buildings and flooring.

I like this photo because it shows lines on the wall, floor and chairs and also the chairs are in a line. The chairs also make quite an interesting photograph.
I also like this photo because it is clear that lines are the main point for taking the photo. If i took this photo again I would try and get some curved lines in the photograph in order to add some variation.
I dont like this photograph because none of the lines are strait and its not clear that lines are what were being photographed. If i were to edit this photo I would crop it so that lines were the main focus and I would make sure that the lines were vertical or horizontal.

Image bank: Lines

This photograph shows many straight lines going horizontally, vertically and diagonally. The railway lines and cables are entirely made up of lines meeting at different angles. All of the lines in this picture make it look very bland and standard, this can be connected with the commuting workers which are the main users of the railway.
This photograph is made up of Curved lines on the ceiling and strait vertical lines making the pillars. Smaller horizontal lines can also be seen making the ceiling. This picture is quite complex but does not include any obvious main point of focus although there is the women but she does not catch the eye due to her being in the same dull colours as the building and her tall upright stature masks her more.
The buildings in this picture are made up of strait vertical and horizontal lines meeting at different points of all different sizes. The bridge's bold, dark structure is made up of many tiny lines and is the main point of focus in this picture. Curved lines can be seen on the boats and smaller objects in the photo.
Strait vertical and horizontal lines make up the bricks on the floor and the buildings. The steps and hand rail are made up of curved lines creating a contrast between the bland building and outside.
The bench has curved lines on the handle creating a decorative feature which draws the eye in. The seat part of the bench is made up with vertical lines contrasting with the arm of the bench.
The trees are made up of vertical lines, these are not perfectly strait but still give this impression. The path curves slightly to the left instead of being dead strait creating a bit more of an enigma. The branches go in all directions mainly diagonal and the shadows creates new set of wavy lines on the path.

The lines that feature in this photo are strait, and curved. The railway track and station is made up of many lines all joined together creating the picture. The roof of the station is made up of regular curved lines creating an arched effect.
This photograph features mostly curved lines. The road is very wavy which is not typically how a road would be photographed. The yellow line in the centre of the road exentuates curves of the road and also show that the road curves upwards as a hill as well as round bends.
This photo features strait lines going diagonaly and vertically within these lines smaller horizontal lines can be seen adding detail to the photograph.
This photograph shows strait lines going diagonally and creating parralel lines. The windmill is also made up of strait lines going diagonally.
My definition

Lines can be strait, curved, diagonal etc. They feature everywhere and come in all shapes and sizes.
